Traditional Joinery
The corners of a simple box can be joined together in any number of ways. However, the exact joinery technique used will determine just how long the box will last. Use a simple butt joint, and the box will fail quickly. On the other hand, place a hand cut dovetail joint on each of the four corners, and you have a box that will withstand the test of time. Additionally, place a precisely cut drawer bottom made of solid wood in the drawer and the strength of the drawer is even better.
Throughout our furniture, you will find full mortise and tenon joints, wood pegs, breadboard ends, and dovetail joinery.
